APRIL BLOG
Hi to all juniors!
Welcome to our April news.
- Junior round robins are now completed. Well done to all those who participated and of course to our winners and runners-up, who by now have received their prizes!
- Our new Active Participation List will be up shortly and will include all those who took part in the round robins. Please let us know of any external tournaments you enter so that we can keep our list updated!
- Under 12 and U/17 Summer Leagues are nearing completion. Congratulations to everyone involved. Our under 12s performed really well despite, in some cases, facing very tough opposition and I think everyone really enjoyed the team experience (Best of luck to the 1st team in their last match). Both of our U/17 teams are currently unbeaten so best of luck to them with their remaining matches!
- An under 8 team recently took part in a fun multi-sport event in Deer Park. Well done to them (see photo on website).
- Watch out for details shortly of Rob’s summer camps beginning in July which are sure to book up early!
- Templeogue Junior Open ran very successfully over Easter despite difficult weather on a couple of days. There were approx. 40 entries from Templeogue juniors so well done to all involved.
- A quick reminder to check the Tennis Ireland website for upcoming Open Tournaments – we would encourage as many juniors as possible to get more match experience by participating in these events. North Leinster Junior Championships in Mullingar begin 23rd May through to 21st June for the different age groups and Carrickmines Open runs 12-20 June.
- We had another great American Tournament on 9th April which was enjoyed by all, as was the Teen Pizza Nite on 3rd April – more events to follow!
- We look forward to a very successful Parent/Child Fun Tournament planned for 24th May. Forms now available on the website – numbers will be limited so get those entries in as soon as possible!
- Finally, a word of encouragement to all juniors to keep up plenty of match practice in between events – arrange matches with your friends and keep playing!
- Please continue to let us know of any news, achievements etc for inclusion in our monthly blog – details by text to Maeve Deeny @ 087 6212655 or Anne Marie Browne @ 086 8094206 before month end. Thanks!

FEBRUARY BLOG
Hi to all juniors!
Welcome to our February news.
- It's great to see so many of you getting an early start in the round robins. If you haven’t yet begun, start arranging those matches!
- Our first American Tournament of 2009 was a great success with over 60 children taking part on 17th Feb. Well done to everyone who participated and watch out for more events over the coming months.
- A quick reminder for everyone to check out the notice boards in the Junior Room to keep up to date on what’s going on.
- Rob will be running a 3-day Easter camp during the school holidays so watch out for further information over the next couple of weeks.
- Templeogue Junior Open entry forms now available on this website. Closing date is 2nd April. There will be a consolation draw, so everyone is guaranteed two matches. We would encourage all juniors to enter.
- It has been suggested that we replace the previous ‘ladder’ with an ‘Active Players List’ where every child can gain points by taking part in both home club and external events (with bonus points for winners, runners-up etc). Our aim is to get everyone involved, playing more matches and having fun! This should be up and running after the round robins are completed.
- Well done to those who took part in Leinster Qualifying Matchplay over the mid-term. Special congratulations to those who qualified for the Leinster Matchplays.
Isabel Browne, Adam Melia, Sean Holmes, Philip Lynch, Michael Tougher, Shane Dempsey, David Matthews, Paul Hammond, Megan Berber, Alanah Quinsey, & John Tougher.
- Congratulations to John Tougher who was runner-up in the Tennis Ireland Spring Championships Under 16 boys. An excellent achievement!
- We are always interested in any news, individual tennis achievements etc. so please text Maeve Deeny @ 087 6212655 or Anne Marie Browne @ 086 8094206 before month end with any relevant info.
