Templeogue Tennis Club is very lucky to have a thriving Junior section and we encourage all our Junior Members to engage in social & competitive play throughout the year. 

Membership                                                                     Junior Rules

Junior membership is available to boys & girls age 10+ yrs.  Children under 10 yrs can only join the Club as part of a Family membership.

To apply for membership, phone or email the Club and a form will be sent out to you.  Junior membership opens each year in January/February after which time a waiting list will apply.  The Junior Officer reserves the right to open or close Junior membership at any time.  Each application should be proposed/seconded by a current Senior member of the Club.  If no proposer/seconder is available, a full letter from the child’s school should accompany the application.

 

Coaching

Junior coaching takes place throughout the year after school hours and during the summer months.  New Junior members will be incorporated into coaching classes as and when a place becomes available.  Acceptance for membership does not guarantee a place in a coaching group.  Coaching fees are not included in the application fee.

Junior Leagues & Day Cups

The Club are involved in a number of Leagues for all age groups.

• Boys & Girls Summer Day Leagues are run by the Leinster Provincial Towns Committee. 
  
• The Dublin Lawn Tennis Council welcome our participation in their Autumn Leagues
  
• Inter Club matches & Day Cups
  

Tennis Programme

Our Summer Programme begins with Spring Round Robins for all age groups and are graded appropriately to facilitate all members.

 

American Tournaments

American Tournaments are held most Wednesdays during June/July/Aug (excluding Superleague & Championship weeks) with a lunchtime BBQ.
Weather permitting, American Tournaments are held during mid-term(s) and Christmas.

The Superleague is held in July running over a full week culminating with Prizegiving at the Junior Disco on the Friday night. 
It is a fun event and is suitable for all standards and ages!!

The highlight of the year takes place at the end   of August – Junior Championship week.  This is the showcase for all the hard work and dedication the children have put in over the year.  Prizegiving takes place the Junior Disco on the Saturday night.

Teen Tennis

Teen Tennis evenings take place regularly and have become extremely popular.
Tennis followed by Pizza.  Details appear on the notice board/Web.

 

On a final note, Santa never forgets the younger Templeogue Juniors and makes his appearance in December with fun & gifts for all.

The Junior Committee are delighted to work with such enthusiastic and polite young people throughout the year.
